Let's learn!

We worked on our numbers this week by using some Winnie the Pooh flash cards I got from the Dollar Tree.  A great place to get learning items!!!!
I would have her first count the honey pots on the card I would give her.  Then I either ask for the number 1 or the word 1.  She did pretty good on this.  We do need a little more practice but we are getting there!

She then would flip over her matches and see the picture she made and would count whatever the picture indicated.

We then worked on some play-dough activities.  She made the number one with play-dough first, like we did with the letter "a".  I then drew a line down the center of the play dough and would then give her a stamp of either the  letter "a" or number "1".  She would then have to stamp it on the correct side.

Then she got to use the magnet pom poms I made her to make our shape of the month.  When I instructed her, I asked her to follow the lines when putting on a pom pom.  I was thinking she would put them right on the line, not in between the two.  How our minds are all so different!

We did some other things this week with colors but forgot to get pics :-/ oops!

Letter A-part 1

Bella loves working with her Dot markers.  So she needs help with staying in the lines and how to write her letters.  this accomplishes both! She isn't that great at it yet though, unless I guide her.  So this will be something we do with each letter. I got the sheets from here.

As we work through the alphabet, we will have a memory verse do go with that letter.

Here she finger painted A for Alligator.  This was the first time she has used finger paints! Love Christmas gifts :)

We have the play dough mats for each letter.  So I would give her pieces of play dough and then had her stick it inside the lines. This is a great activity for her as she is still learning the concept of staying in the lines.
Then I had her work on differentiating between big "A" and little "a".  And she actually new the difference between the two and has now gotten the concept of dotting a specific spot and not dragging the dotter or dotting all over the place!

Then we worked on coloring a letter "a" sheet on the iPad! Gotta love technology lol!

Then we made a big "A" craft.  "A" for alligator :)  I got the idea from here.  I hope to do a little "a" craft next week! We shall see lol

Stacking alpha blocks

The Twins and Bella worked on their blocks today.  They love to have Bella stack them and then they knock it over.  Bella also counts with them :) She's such a good big sister.

I love her inquisitive looks <3

Caiden loves to try to take one block at a time.
Wanna guess who they are looking at?

CHRISTmas

These are the activities we are doing that center around Jesus and the nativity.  I will put links of the places I get the ideas and worksheet from.

Here she is learning letters using key phrases from the story of Christ's birth.  She is learning to match capital and lowercase, as well as letter identification.

I got this Christmas coloring book from this website.  It's not solely revolved around the nativity but it has great pictures and it works through the alphabet.  She is using Crayola dry erase crayons and I have the papers in sheet protectors.

We also worked on sorting people and animals from the nativity.  We did something similar for thanksgiving.  She does really well on these activities.

Here we worked on size sorting.  This day we focused heavily on Baby Jesus also, so we would talk about the significance of Baby Jesus at Christmas also.

We worked on colors and following directions.  This was more challenging for her as she wanted to do her own thing, and she is still working on colors

And we always love it when Grammy helps :)

Here we are working on counting and identifying the corresponding number. I had originally planned on using small balls of play dough to place not he correct number but she wanted to use the Do-a-dot markers.  She does well with counting but we are still working on being able to identify the correct number.

Bella worked on shadow matching the different parts of the nativity scene.  This was great to help her learn to pay attention to detail.

I have more things I plan on doing but most of things are all part of the Packs that I linked up to in this blog. I may do another post of those activities! We shall see what time allows for :)
