Some of our favorite gross motor activities is singing and dancing with Laurie Berkner! It is tons of fun to play our guitar like Laurie does.
Bella loves "teaching" her brother and sister all she knows! Here they were working on puzzles. There are only 3 pieces on this puzzle so each kid got a piece ;-)
Chrissie this is a great blog! I try to do puzzles and blocks with Abby all the time but her attention span doesn't hold for longer than about 2 minutes unless its lighting up or playing music at her lol...any tips on some games I can play with her??
Well let me just say, keep in mind these are still shots that I have chosen lol so that means the seconds before and after may not have been so "perfect". That being said, a lot of what I do with the twins (7.5 months) is just let them play and talk to them ALOT. I describe everything! Thats their learning right now. Also reading to them helps train their attention span! As for Bella, I didn't start this type of teaching until November when she was 22 months. Prior to that I didn't think she was ready for sit down with papers learning. So we did lots of playful learning. I would do a lot of things with her that were a little above her skill level and teach her how to do it, so that as she played by herself she would try to get there. So for example when all she wanted to do is knock blocks over, I started to introduce to her how to stack. But I would still celebrate and have fun with her knocking them over. One day, she started to try to stack herself, and if she got overly frustrated I would encourage and help her. Also, when she was little I did a lot of Sensory play. So i would have bins filled with different items that I knew were safe for her and let her explore. So they would be filled with noodles, pipe cleaners, spoons, cups, etc. Now bella never put anything in her mouth, so I had lots of freedom with this! I hope this was helpful!
