Tot School - After the move!

~Bella is 32 months~
~Twins are 15 months~

So we did alot of iPad letter review the first week or two we were moved in.  She loves to work on this independently.

She recently has expressed GREAT interest in flash card work.  She asks almost daily if we can do our "Games" :)

I have these cards from all over - Dollar Tree, given as gifts, Teaching, Walmart.

Here she is working on matching the number of objects on one card to the number card.

We got these from Nanna (who was a Kindergartner teacher).  She really likes these.  We sing the Leap Frog Letter Sound song with these cards.

Got these also from Nanna :) She is doing Count Matching again.

Then we worked on number order...

Then I got this "puzzle" from the thrift store.  She is matching big and little Letters.

She worked on writing her name some more.  This is getting boring to her so I will have to spice this up some how...

As for the twins they got the chance to color again with some dry erase crayons from Crayola...

Then we worked with lids and a wipe box again.  My guys LOVE to put things in boxes and such.

Sometimes I will just give them a regular toy to get them to be more focused and work on attention spans...

These are shower curtain rings that they are "threading" onto another toy we have.

My next Tot school post we will be back to more "normal" Tot school work.  With a special learning day with Nanna :)

Tot School - Before the move...

~Bella is 31 months~
~Twins are 14 months~

So I know I haven't written any posts in a while. That's because I have been busy packing the whole month of July and then moved the last weekend in July.  So I had been taking pictures but not really able to do any posts.  So this is what we did over about a 2-3 week time frame.

So alot of our learning time was with toys and some art supplies.  As I started packing everything we couldn't do our traditional learning activities with Bella.  But that's ok.  It's good to switch things up every once and a while.

So we played with blocks and Bella helped the twins with building.

We did some painting...

Then I cut some wholes in the top of a shoe box and the kiddos put different sized lids through the slots.

Then I got cotton balls that they could push through the slots also.

But sometimes Peek-a-boo is just more fun!

Then I let the twins play with our dot markers.  I put a piece of paper all the way across the table and let them go at it.

Caiden liked it more when he could have two....

Then once they got bored with pounding them, they wanted to work on putting the lids on...

They did really well about not putting them in their mouths,

Well that is until I turned around for 10 seconds and Caiden seized the opportunity...

We did a quick letter writing review with Bella where she had to make the letters disappear by writing over my chalk letters with her wet paint brush.

Then we did a sensory activity outside where they played with colored ice cubes.

Letter J and Teeny Tots

~Bella is 31 months~
~Twins are 13 months~

So we managed to get in some letter work this week.  Not as much as I would have liked, but it will do.  It is the summer time right?  So we are on letter J now.  We did "J" for Jelly Bean.

Here she did her little and big "J" sorting...

Then we did some Dot art...

Patterns with Jelly Beans...

Then she matched colors and shapes...

For numbers, the jelly beans had dots on one side that she had to count and find the matching number...

Then we did some of the beloved Play dough!

TEENY TOT SCHOOL

For the twins we first worked with counting bears and cut up toilet paper tubes.  They really liked this activity.  They would stack the tubes, put the bears in the tubes, watch the bears fall out of the tubes...

Next we used popsicle sticks.  My original idea was to have them put them into an ice cube tray I have that are cylindrical.  This was NOT interesting to them...

So I revamped the activity and gave them old formula cans with holes pocked in the lids.  They LOVED this activity.  They in fact could not get enough of it!

Bella even enjoyed doing this activity with her brother and sister...

However, Bella thought the pretzels from her snack would be a better choice to put in the ice cube trays :)

We also did some pre-writing work (really its just drawing lol)

For the first time, I taped a huge piece of paper to the table and gave everyone some crayons to work with.  This was an O.K. activity.  The twins just always wanna eat the crayons! lol

So the next way we tried drawing was with dry erase markers.  "SHE GAVE THEM MARKERS?!?!?!"  lol yes I did :)

And you know what they did MUCH better with the markers then the crayons!  I have no clue why.  But they hardly every put them in their mouths!

Then we got out the dollhouse.  We haven't played with this for a while, as the twins were always frustrating Bella with it.  But this time they all played very nicely.

And the girls played like typical girls.....

And Caiden???

Well he was typical boy :)

And a little Fourth of July cuteness for you :)
